A larger dollar GDP can reflect a stronger currency as well as more output. PPP series on this site are the better comparison of living-standard volume. From 1960 to 2025 (66 years): latest USD 2.28T (2025), previous year USD 2.19T (2024); low USD 17.03B (1960), high USD 2.62T (2011).

Current-US-dollar GDP measures economic size at market exchange rates. Currency movements can change its value even without a change in output. Total GDP is not a measure of individual living standards; PPP provides a comparison using comparable price levels.
